Chabad Loft is a branch of the global Chabad-Lubavitch movement, based in the heart of Greenwich Village.
With over 5,000 centers worldwide, Chabad is known for its mission to create welcoming, accessible Jewish life for every individual. While they share a common vision, each location reflects the unique spirit of its community.
Set in the historic, bohemian culture of Greenwich Village, Chabad Loft brings a warm, creative, and deeply personal approach to Jewish life.
Led by Rabbi Yakov and Avital and their family, Chabad Loft has touched the lives of thousands through Shabbat dinners, holiday gatherings, classes, and one-on-one connection. Their home and community are open each week, creating a space where people feel welcomed, seen, and valued.
Coming from secular backgrounds themselves, they bring an authentic and relatable approach to Jewish spirituality — one that is rooted in joy, warmth, and meaningful relationships.
At the center of it all is The Kavanah Space , A project of the Chabad Loft that serves as a community and learning center, gathering place, omakase sushi experience, art gallery, and learning center.
Some nights are large and lively, bringing together singles, couples, and families. Others are more intimate and reflective. But the feeling remains the same:
