Chanukah Gala Bash

Dear Friends,

We are brokenhearted and deeply shaken by the horrific attack in Sydney, Australia. What was meant to be a beautiful Chanukah gathering became a scene of terror and tragedy. We mourn those who were murdered, and we pray for a complete healing for all who were injured—especially my dear friend and colleague, Rabbi Eli Schanger O'BM.

Chanukah’s message feels more urgent than ever: we must be the light. A little light pushes away so much darkness. We will not be intimidated. We will continue to shine with goodness, courage, and Jewish pride—bringing more warmth, more mitzvot, and more unity into the world.

In light of this attack, we will be implementing enhanced security measures for our “BE THE LIGHT” Chanukah event tomorrow night, featuring Zusha and Michael Rapaport.

There will be a significant security presence, metal detectors at entry, and all bags will be checked, entry for only those on the list. Our goal is simple: that everyone feels safe and supported as we come together in strength and unity. Now more than ever, we must be the light. We hope you’ll join us.
